For my bedroom lamp I had had a more expensive light with a wooden shade. This is a lot brighter with the same wattage bulb. I’m not entirely sold on the artificially distressed look, but it is as pictured and an attractive overall design for the price. Unless you buy a lamp with a glass or wood shade, you’re going to have to assemble the shade. The directions were adequate and the result acceptable, and I understand the reasons why sellers now prefer them for shipping. Still, it is time consuming and little awkward having to make your own shade, an advantage held by store bought lamps that come with shades pre-assembled. I anticipated having to put the shade together, so I am not deducting a star for it.

This lamp arrived quickly and is heavy and beautiful. Perfect for my bedroom. You actually assmble the shade which is far easier that sounds. The components are quite high quality, especially for the price.

Lamp was easy to assemble. The base is well made and heavy. Everything works. I am very happy with it. The lamp is small, so read dimensions if you’re wanting a full size lamp. I saw other reviews that said it requires a small light bulb. This is not the case. A standard bulb fits perfectly. I would definitely buy again.
