   I love down pillows because they can be “fluffed” and sit on a leather couch surface without sliding around, so I was excited to open the package with these little beauties. The first thing I noticed is that there was no unpleasant smell. These are feather pillows, not down, and often I can smell the feathers quite strongly, but these pillows had an odor that I can only describe as sanitized. Because they arrive with all the air sucked out and firmly packaged, I assume they were cleaned and placed within plastic envelopes so as not to pick up odors in shipping. They do need to be “fluffed” thoroughly before using because they are quite compressed, but it’s a joy to do it, because the result is quite satisfying. The pillows are firmer than pure down, but not too firm. The covers are densely woven to contain the contents so no worries about feathers poking out. I’m delighted with these and recommend them.

   These pillow inserts are really nice. They come vacuum sealed (for space-saving purposes) and fluff up rather quickly.
   They behave just as you’d expect down feathers to behave—pliable and easily manipulated. They are not stiff by any means and will droop or fold over if not intentionally structured.
   Covers that are slightly smaller would work well for creating additional structure.
   These are nice pillow inserts and I’d recommend.

   I love that these pillow inserts have feather filling and there is a double casing over them to help assure that the feathers don’t escape through the casing.
   __I chose the 18 inches x 18 inches size which arrives in a plastic bag with the air vacuumed out so it is very compacted. Once the bag is opened, simply toss them into the dryer on low heat along with dryer balls to allow them to fluff to their fullest capacity
   __These are also machine washable in cold water, which is awesome
   __I prefer real feather pillows versus synthetic filling since they do not lose shape and they last for like ever
   __These types of pillows are a bit pricey, but IMO they are worth it given their longevity
   __BOTTOM LINE: I am very pleased with these inserts and would gladly choose them again

   These come very compacted, but are easily fluffed in a dryer. I replaced the synthetic inserts of my throw pillows with these. I will say that the fill is pretty good, but if you are used to/desire denser/plumper pillows, get a bigger size insert than your pillow. While they definitely fit, I think I would have preferred the fill of the 20×20 in my 18×18 pillows. Obviously this is a personal preference, so I won’t deduct stars as the quality is quite good.
