UPDATE 10-4-17: I received a free replacement clock last week, and it works perfectly. It looks great on my desk and I’ve already received a few compliments on it. It’s not loud at all which is great (I don’t like the traditional ticking sound of clocks in a silent office), but if you’re listening for it you can hear when the minute changes. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the customer service in receiving a free clock due to the first clock not working, and the product itself is great for the price. I will not update this review any further unless something goes wrong!
UPDATE 9-20-17: I received a refund for the clock I originally received which did not work. The seller contacted me and offered to replace the item – I will provide another update once I receive the new clock.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 8-24-17: Other reviews stated that numbers had fallen off in transport; while I did not have that issue, the clock was still broken when I received it. I unpacked the clock and inserted the D battery, and it made a “whirring” sound for a few seconds and stopped. It was silent, and the numbers never changed after 10+ minutes. I even went and bought a new pair of D batteries to make sure it wasn’t the battery I had, but that made no difference. Returned and will purchase the nearly identical clock I found which costed ~$9 more. I would not recommend this clock.

I have a bit of a clock fetish, if you have one too you’ll like this clock or if you know someone who does. I have all types of clocks and watches both old and new and this was a nice addition. Classic old looks in a new modern design. Large easy to read numbers and you even get a little click every minute when it changes.

Nice clock planning to get another. When unpackaging it is fragile Cut the plastic off, do not pull. Be very careful when unpackaging the number tiles you do not want to disturb. You should only handle by the base and it should treat you well for a while. And make sure to use carbon zinc battery

Got this for my husband’s birthday last year and it’s still ticking. I don’t even think we’ve changed the batteries.

Prodotto valido, ben rifinito e perfettamente funzionante. Unico neo può essere il rumore prodotto dalla rotazione dei cartellini, dovuto al funzionamento meccanico dell’orologio….inevitabile per un orologio di questo tipo. Molto consigliato.

I have gotten a ton of complements on this clock in my office. For something that seems to be just a cheap product – if I remember right it didn’t even come with instructions in English, it has held up very well. I have had it for several months and it is still on the original battery, and the time has remained accurate – within a minute or two a month.
The only potential downside is the quiet ‘click’ the clock makes as each minute ticks by. I noticed it for the first day or two I had the clock in my office – now I am used to it. But if you are a quiet freak, this isn’t the clock for you.
If you can handle a super-quiet click every minute, this is a great clock with some style!

Number 1, this is a very cool clock. Top marks for style. Very unique with the flip numbers. I was thinking about the hatch doomsday clock on “Lost” when I saw this and decided to buy. It’s silent however. The issues are the batteries it uses and then dropping performance after the first change. “D” cell batteries in certain devices feels almost a thing of the past. Add to that the first battery lasted maybe 2 1/2 months. these I bought alongside the clock as recommended. I’m paying attention to the performance now since it seems like it is lagging a little bit. It was doing very well, but then you can’t expect a battery clock to hang with a cellphone in regards to time.

I am using a regular alkaline battery. No problems so far.

I have purchased two of these now, the first one failed in a matter of months. Now the second (pictured) has failed in the same manner – I would suggest that this is not a well made product. What happens over time is that, first, the mechanism hangs at the top of the hour, i. e., at say 10:59 the clock will not change to 11:00. Instead when another minute passes the clock jumps from 10:59 to 11:01, the :00 time is skipped completely. Then, after some days operating like that, the top part of the “59” tile falls off. Both of my clocks have behaved in exactly this way. The clock is in a cool, dry place and no one touches it except me to change the battery. I know there are instructions on how to replace a tile that has fallen off, but the fact that this has happened the exact same way two times now, back to back, is evidence of a poorly made product. I would recommend that you look for another brand if you are considering a mechanical digital clock.
