Nice looking clock arrived earlier than they said it would the chimes not too loud but for that amount of money you think they would have gave you batteries

It’s a very cheap clock assembly was difficult because they don’t have all the lines lined up the slide in the back panel obviously cheaply manufactured not worth the money in my opinion

First, the obvious: This is a piece of furniture that is “clock-like”, essentially it’s a stand-in for a real Grandfather clock. If you can’t afford $1,500+ (like me), but you want the look – this does nicely. For under $500 it’s exactly what you would expect: The moon phase dial does not move, and the chimes are horrible but can be turned down to silence them. (if it ain’t real brass being struck, I don’t want to hear it). The pendulum swings and the brass weights look good in the dark cabinet – but the weights were not in the box sealed from China. I called the company and they wanted the purchase receipt and the sticker from the manuf – as photographs so they can be emailed right away, and the weights showed up before they could send a tracking no. I won’t deduct points when a company responds quickly and fixes a problem, so high praise for the Coaster Co.
Yes, I would buy it again. We love our “prop” clock.

It’s a nice looking faux grandfather clock. It should be priced lower though. Easy to assemble. I keep it on the Westminster tune instead of the chime &/or combination of tune & chime. I have just recently realized that it is not silent during the night. Overall, I’m happy with the look of the clock.

This is my second Coaster clock in 7 years. I purchased the second clock for another room. This is a more refined product with a quartz movement with more organic chimes, a volume control, and a more regulated pendulum sway than my first click. Fit and finish on this clock is about what you would expect on a clock at this price point. I found the packaging more than adequate to protect the clock and the assembly simple and effective with included fasteners. Some may argue you should spend more on a Howard Miller or Ridgeway. You will never get close to either under $1000. And the cheapest will also have battery operated pendulums and quartz movements just like this Coaster.

Not the same as an old school grandfather clock.. but very good considering the cost.

For those who said it’s not accurate on time or doesn’t chime, it is because you didn’t set it up right. You need to clockwise rotate only the minute arm to 5:55 AM (make sure it’s AM) when you put in batteries and then clockwise only the minute arm to the local time to set your time right. It does tell AM and PM, and it will chime 7 AM To 9 PM. It will also strike the same number of the hours. If it doesn’t strike the correct number of sounds corresponding to the hours (i.e., if it’s 7 AM or 7 PM, it should strike 7 times), you just need to push the time adjust button on the back for the additional sounds that is missing. So if it’s 7 PM, but it only strikes 6 times, you will need to press that button one time to let the clock know it is 1 strike short. However, if it’s 10PM, but it strikes 10 times, it means it if off by 12 times, so you need to press the button 12 times to let it know it’s short for 12 times. Every time, you want to reset (for example changing batteries), you just need to rotate the minute arm clockwise to 5:55 AM, then start from there. It works great. I don’t want those comments that were posted from people who didn’t know how to set it up correctly to mislead the potential buyers. This clock looks so great quality and great and soft melody (not noisy at all) and works great. It is very cost effective for the price. Good purchase!!!! Very happy about it.

I don’t like writing bad reviews, but, for what I paid for this thing, this has to be the worst condition I’ve received a “brand new” product in. As you can see from the pictures, the cheap compressed wood foam-board did not hold up well on its way over here, which means that it I will not be able to solidly put it together.
1 star is probably too harsh, but, I’m upset that, with the size of this thing, I don’t see myself cramming everything back in the box for a refund. My dad has always wanted a grandfather clock, and, while I couldn’t afford to give him the real deal, by the pictures, this looked like the next best thing. Keep your money on this one folks. Gee wiz.

A present for my fiancée and she was thrilled! It was very close to matching her furniture and she says it keeps perfect time. The price was great for not an airloom type grandfather clock! It looks beautiful !
