Halloween is a time when we go all out and decorate pretty much every bit of space we can. This past year we decided to make our front yard a graveyard. When I saw these pop up on my feed I had to order them and give them a try.
They’re you’re standard foam board gravestone that you find in other stores but these are just a tad thinner (width-wise, not thickness). At first I was concerned on how they’d hold up but I need not have worried! These suckers held up better than any of the gravestones we purchased elsewhere (including THE Halloween store). We get quite a few stormy days in the Autumn and I was very impressed with how well these weathered. The only thing I’d recommend is that you make sure they’re in your ground pretty good.
Price wise they’re a perfect deal (6 for $30 as of this review) and come out less expensive than the “brand name” versions. Overall we were super happy with them and can honestly recommend them for other Halloween lovers!

This did not come with stakes to hold them down.

They look more expensive than they were! I was afraid of having cheap looking decorations. These are so fun and I love the texture of them. They seem to be holding up well outside and have stayed in the ground with the small plastic stakes that come with them. I hope to be able to reuse them for several years!

Did the job but not sturdy.

I gave 5 stars because for the cost it was a great buy. However, I would prefer a more sturdy set of tombstones and I’m not sure these would last in storage for a year. All in all I have a great decoration that looks great in the yard for a low price.

These headstones look fairly nice. Their sizing is as described. Each headstone comes with some little plastic “feet” at the bottom. They are SUPER lightweight. I tried to see if I could bend the feet to get it to stick in the ground, but they’re plastic and one of them snapped off. We already have some H-style wire sign stakes, so we will use those to stabilize the headstones. Otherwise I’m positive these would just fly away or snap apart in a strong wind. If you’re using these indoors, that wouldn’t be a concern but you’d likely still need to secure these somehow to a surface (maybe tape) because they are so light just walking by is likely to topple them. I definitely wouldn’t buy these at full retail ($22.99 when I received them), but if you were able to get a good coupon it might be worth it to have them for a season if you already have a way of securing them to the ground.

The designs on these styrofoam gravestones looked fun so I decided to try them out for this year’s trick-or-treaters.
As promised, the set included 6 gravestones. Each was individually wrapped. The aging effect on them looks great and they make a nice impression when they are all lined up together. I don’t notice any obvious problems with the paint or any of the 3D effects pressed into the styrofoam.
Since they’re made of styrofoam I don’t want to unwrap them all just yet; they will obviously be pretty vulnerable to damage if they get jostled too much. I did still want to open one so I could see how they stand up. There are two little plastic pegs attached at the bottom, with a flat portion that can be rotated to stand them up. This could work well for folks who don’t have soil or some other soft material they can use to stake them into the ground, though they are lightweight so if you want to set them up that way, it would be good to weigh them down so they don’t get knocked over by the wind.
I found that the gravestone I opened didn’t stand up straight when I simply rotated the pegs around; it was tilting to a pretty extreme degree. I had to take the pegs out and put them back in at a slightly different angle to correct it, even though they’d been preset. It wasn’t too difficult to make the correction so it’s not that big a deal. I’ll probably end up rearranging the stakes so the long end is sticking out of the bottom so I can stake them in the ground instead; it’s not a long stake but the styrofoam is very lightweight so I think this will keep them standing for the evening.
All in all, they’re fun designs and will be an easy decoration to store for the rest of the year. As long as they don’t get rained on or smashed I’m sure we’ll be able to make use of them for a while.
