i always wanted a clock that will give me the indoor and outdoor temp, was shopping around on Amazon. Sharp’s clock is not the cheapest by all means, the moment I opened the package the clock screams good quality, it was made out of plastic, but does not look cheap at all. The atomic clock and the temp function all work as intended, screen size is big and easy to read. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase

Easy to set up… easy to hang… numbers you can read across the room…
Clock automatically sets time straight from a satellite…. hang your outside temperature unit outside and you have both inside & outside temperature. This is the 2nd clock I’ve purchased … the 1st operated flawlessly for 5 years…

I had an older clock with similar functions but smaller display. This clock is great, easy to read even without my glasses and my wife can see it from her side of the bed. Easy to set up, I didn’t even need the instructions. It dose not come with batteries so have those handy.
I am happy with my purchase.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Clock was mostly easy to set up and has very good readability in normal room lighting. But there are issues:
– The time zone indicators that appear on the screen are “PST,” “MST,” “CST,” etc, which is Pacific Standard Time, Mountain Standard Time, etc., even when the automatic daylight saving time feature is turned on. There are no readouts that indicate DST, for example, PDT or MDT. As this review is written, DST is in effect, the clock reads the correct time and the DST feature is turned on. Yet, the time zone graphic states “CST,” Central Standard Time.
– There is no indicator showing that the DST feature is turned on.
– The atomic on-screen status indicator either doesn’t work properly or the user manual description of the indicator is wrong (or just confusing). The manual states that a flashing indicator means the clock is searching for the time signal, a steady indictor means a signal is received and no indictor means the clock is not searching for a signal. that seems straight-forward enough. But, it’s not.
When I press the button on the back of the device to cause the clock to begin a search for a radio signal, the radio icon begins to flash. Great, the clock is searching for a radio signal. But after a short while searching the indicator goes out which per the manual means the clock is no longer searching for a signal. Yet, the clock didn’t reset to the correct time.
So what’s going on.? Will the clock automatically search for a signal from time to time? Must I periodically press the search button until the clock syncs? Who knows.
The user manual states that the clock may not sync during the day due to radio interference from other sources. If that’s the case, says the manual, the clock will sync overnight. That, of course, suggests the clock will periodically search until a signal is found. That’s good. But why doesn’t the indicator continue to flash so folks know the clock is still searching? Or why doesn’t the manual say that the device will continue to search for a signal even though the radio icon is off?
I manually set the clock for an hour ahead of the actual time to see if the clock eventually sets itself to the correct time.
UPDATE:
After 2 days, the clock connected with the NIST and set itself. The radio icon is on continuously and “DST” also appears, although the time zone icon still shows (in this case) “CST.” So everything seems to work and all is well.
All problems and confusion could have been avoided if:
– The time zone indicators included “PDT, “MDT,” etc. so that it was obvious that DST was turned on before before the clock connected to NIST and set itself.
– The radio/atomic on-screen indicator continued to flash until the clock connected with NIST. If that occurred, it would be obvious the clock was searching for the NIST signal. But because the icon turned off after a few minutes, it appeared the clock was not searching. In the alternative, there would have been no confusion if the user manual stated the clock searches for the NIST signal even when the icon is not present.
– The user manual states that the clock may not connect with NIST during the day due to interference from other radio sources but that it should connect overnight. It seems that it may take even longer than overnight to connect. If the user manual stated that it sometimes takes 2 or 3 days to connect, it would have made life easier.

The clock worked great for 2 and a half years. I love the big numbers and the ability to see the outside temperature. But a few days ago the outside temperature started showing as –. I let it stay that way for a couple days hoping it would fix itself. Then finally I pushed the reset button and now nothing on the clock works. It just sits there ticking. Edit: Turns out im an idiot. The batteries were dead. Its back to working perfectly. I love this clock!!!!

On the plus side, it is very easy to read, has three different sensor channels and has a great viewing angel. The outdoor sensor has good range. It has a built in stand. I have not used the stand, I have wall mounted mine. I cannot say how good the viewing angle is on the stand. As the clock is huge, you would really need to hunt for a space if using the stand.
Here are the negatives:
The sensor is very susceptible to moisture, it will stop working. You then have to dry it out for a while and reset the clock. The sensor needs to be place where it is dry.
The case for the sensor has only a cut out for hanging with a nail or screw. That might work for some people, but also having a hanging hole at the top of the case is much better. I dangle mine from a string in a dry outdoor space.
The bottom line. The unit works as designed as long as the sensor remains dry. It lacks the features of a weather station, but is easy to read.
The clock lacks a forecast or humidity feature. That would be nice. It isn’t a weather station despite having an outdoor sensor.
Don’t expect the clock to receive the atomic timing signal if you live in the Eastern part of the US. This is not uncommon. The signal is pretty weak in the East.

As seniors our eyes tend to play tricks on us and unfortunately we need bigger letters and numbers. This is the perfect wall clock for our living room…..no need to squint anymore nor get up and get a closer look🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Excelente reloj.

Good product, but very hard to see unless lit. Would be nice if the background was white, it had a light, etc. The outside sensor although accurate some days, seems to vary depending on where you mount it. There have been days where it’s showing 50c+ (which is insane), but overall it’s pretty accurate.
As some others have said, you can’t mount this with a single hook/screw, it weighs more on one side than the other, so if you use a single screw/hook it sits tilted to one side.

It worked almost out of the box. First, I’ve set it up in my room, then when I realized it works OK I’ve transferred it to the main floor and move the external sensor out of the house, behind a close-by wall.
It works like a charm, with really accurate temp readings in and out. Reccomended.
