I love the texture of it and the look. I really like the frame but unfortunately mine came with a significant crack in it. I’m hoping I can fill it with something and maybe it won’t be noticeable. Other than that it’s great.

Who painted Woman in Gown Reading?
I have no clue. I’ve search and searched the interwebs and all I can find is a whole bunch of home decor places and people on Etsy selling prints of this portrait.
My guess is, nobody really cares who the original artist was but that the work is so old, it’s out of any copyright so the world is free to use it and it’s a nice classy looking painting so why not put it in every hallway, restroom or upscale classic looking hotel that has space for it on a wall?
Why not include mine in that mix?
The portrait itself is nice and is printed on canvas. What looks in the picture to be matting is actually the design of the frame itself which, given your proclivity for decorative frames vs. chisel cut card-stock is open for debate.
Of note, this is framed like a painting without glass so it’d the outer frame and the exposed canvas.

Regardless, at $16 for this size, I’d say it’s worth it for what you get if you find the artwork appealing. It’s not any sort of bargain but it’s also not, in my opinion, overpriced for what it is, either.

The painting is exactly what I needed to bring the colors together in my room. The frame is cheap, but on the wall, you can’t tell. Love it!

Vibrant and moody at the same time. The texture of the canvas is evident. Frame is pretty nice too. Arrived with corner protectors on it along with plastic covering in a box of other items from Amazon and bunched paper for cushioning & in perfect condition. Glad I bought it!
